The Originals Relais (Relais du Silence) is a renovated 15th-century manor that belonged to the philosopher René Descartes. It offers 16 individually decorated rooms, a restaurant, a vegetable garden, and an outdoor heated swimming pool from mid-May to the end of September. Châtellerault can be reached in 12 minutes by car. The rooms feature a large flat-screen TV and most have free Wi-Fi. Some
rooms have exposed beams and stone walls. The restaurant is open to hotel guests on Monday to Friday evenings by reservation and has limited seating. The bar offers sharing plates (tapas and appetizers) until 8pm. The Futuroscope theme park is only a 25-minute drive away. Free public parking is available and bicycles can be rented on site to explore the region.
