The Gesualdo Six, renowned for being "weavers of rich and meaningful sonic tapestries" (BBC Music Magazine), present a program of poignant and inspiring music in memory of the departed. Through a carefully curated selection of works spanning from the Renaissance to the present day, the a cappella ensemble explores the diverse musical responses to themes of grief, loss, and hope throughout the centuries. The repertoire includes compositions by Tavener, Byrd, Tallis, Lassus, and Morales, as well as contemporary pieces such as Joanna Marsh's "I take thee," composed specifically for The Gesualdo Six in 2020. This program is an ideal showcase for the vocal perfection and heartfelt interpretation of this globally acclaimed vocal ensemble.
