Le théâtre Victor-Hugo a été reconstruit en 1902 à l'emplacement du café-concert de l'Elysée-Montmartre qui avait été incendié en février 1900.
Il était dirigé par Chauvin.
Au départ,
il a été utilisé comme café-concert et music hall, mais à partir de 1936, il a été transformé en cinéma.
La salle est conçue selon le style italien.
